Graduated from the CEPT University (Center for Environment planning and technology) in 1992, where he received his degree and diploma in Architecture. Later continued further studies in ETH, Zurich and Berlage Institute, Amsterdam. In 2000 founded URBANOFFICE Architecture + Urbanism in Amsterdam, with the winning project for Europan 5, Bern, Switzerland. In 2001, URBANOFFICE received among others award for the best housing project in Amsterdam, Zuiderkerk Prize 2001. In 2006 URBANOFFICE is grown into two-fold office with the second location in Zurich.

Madir Shah has over 15 years’ experience of working on large-scale urban and architectural projects. He has been worked on strategic regeneration plans, master plans and large-scale urban strategies in the Netherlands, Switzerland and in India. During these period he has also taught at the Berlage Institute, the Academie van Bouwkunst in both Amsterdam and Rotterdam and Merz Academy, Stuttgart. He has given various public lectures and has participated in many advisory panels.
