Progress in Emmen

In a well visited information meeting on 17 February 2010 the residents of the Buitenweg Europan site were told about the winning plan and its consequences. Besides the residents also the architects of the winning plan, Timur Shabaev and Marco Galasso were present.

Municipal representative Jan Dirk Huising opened the meeting, after which Magda Söllner of Lefier related about the intentions of the housing corporation with the area they own. Emmie Vos then explained about Europan. After that the residents got the floor. They worried mostly about the current situation on the site, a disordered spot in Emmen, and addressed the municipality on that subject. Alderman Ton Sleeking answered that is also for the municipality of major importance. Housing corporation Lefier stated that they firmly intend to build on their plot. Nevertheless about three years will pass before the foundation-stone can be laid. The present development plan is more than fifty years old. Based on the plans that will be made with the Europan architects a new development plan will be made, after which realisation can start.
 

Meeting in Emmen
