Groningen Oosterhamrik (Europan 06)

The site, situated along the Van Starkenborghkanaal and on both sides of the Oosterhamrikkanaal, is a transition area between two housing districts dating back to the thirties. Intervention on the site should not only restore the relation between the housing districts; the site should also serve as a "front" of these districts, with a programme of small-scale businesses and a differentiated urban living environment.
